Spring Piano Recital

Last weekend Tabrie had her spring piano recital.  She did such a good job.  We are so proud of her and all of the hard work and practice.  The first song was a duet with her piano teacher and the second she did a solo.  She did awesome and didn’t seem to be too nervous.

Camping

The past two weekend we were able to go camping.  We just got a new trailer and we are loving it.  The first weekend we went to Wolverine Canyon with just our little family.  We had a great time.  The girls loved going hiking, making smores and sitting by the campfire.

We had one small mishap, Briley fell down a small rocky hill  and got a big scratch on her face.  She was pretty tough and all is healing well. 035

Last weekend for Memorial Day we went to Birch Creek with Rex’s Parents and sisters family.  We had lot of fun.  We took the girls fishing and they had great success they each caught 5 or 6 fish in a very short amount of time.

We had such a great time and we love the time that we are able to spend with each other when we go camping.  It is so nice to relax and not have places to go and lots of thing to get done.  It’s so fun to just be able to play with the kids and enjoy all of the time we have to hang out.

Rex and I thought this was pretty funny.  Briley had just got out of the bath tub, and we had the heat in the trailer turn up so that they wouldn’t get cold.  Briley could feel the heat coming out of the vent and thought that it would be a great place to dry her hair.  This is how she was doing it.  I love this girl and all of the crazy things that she comes up with.

Motocross

motocross 09 003 This weekend we were able to go to Salt Lake to Motocross. We had so much fun except that we FROZE to death.  Ok, not really to death but you get the picture.  000_0049

It was fun to see some of the riders and all of their bikes.  Rex loved being in the pits and seeing all of that of stuff, I was freezing and just wanted to hurry through so that I could go somewhere to get warm. Which didn't happen because there wasn't anywhere warm except the bathroom.   motocross 09 004 Once you went into the stadium you couldn’t leave so we had about 5 hours to kill, and nothing to do but stand around a talk and be cold so, Rex and Andrew decided to customize Rex’s rain poncho. Once the races started it did warm up a little bit and it was worth motocross 09 028 battling the cold to watch the races.  The main race was so good, we were on the edge of our seats most of  the rmotocross 09 043ace, but we were happy that Stewart won. We really had a  great weekend and were glad that we went.  Thanks Mom for watching the girls and making Briley a dinner with everything that she liked!!  :)

A Baptism and a Baby Shower

Last Saturday we had a fun but busy day planned. As most of you know my sister Janeal adopted her sweet little angel Kennedy last week. She actually wasn't due until the 24th of March but she decided to come early. We already had the baby shower planned so it was just an added bonus that Kennedy was already here for the shower.

She is so adorable and sweet. We are so happy for Janeal, Tyson, and Carter. This baby really couldn't have gone to a better home.

On Saturday evening at 6:00 Tabrie was able to be baptized. She was so excited. She kept asking when it was time to go.
She was baptized by her Dad and she got dunked three times!! The first time her toe came out of the water. The second time there was a little mix up with the words in the prayer and the third time everything was perfect!!

She thought it was pretty cool that she got to do it three times. I know that will be something that she remembers for awhile. After the baptism and confirmation we had dinner at the church with our friends and family. It was fun, and the kids had a blast running around the gym. Tabrie is very happy to be an offical member of the church. We are so proud of her for making the decision to be baptized. We love her very much and want her to know that we are so proud of her.

It was so hot in the room where the confirmation was done. That is why her cute little cheeks are so red and she isn't looking at the camera. She just wanted to get out of that hot room!! :)

Tabrie Turns 8!!

Yesterday was Tabrie's 8th birthday!! There are so many things that we love about Tabrie. She is such a sweet girl, she is so caring, she is the best big sister, she is smart and very funny. We are so blessed to have her in our family, we love her so much and couldn't imagine life without her.

She absolutely loves High School Musical. She had a High School Musical party with her friends after school. Grandma Pam made her this cute High School Musical cake....Thanks Grandma!!

Grandma Pam also gave both of the girls a new High School Musical shirt to wear to the party. The were both so excited about their new shirts and the party!!

Tabrie also loves Garcia's and that is where she choose to go to dinner for her birthday. She couldn't wait for them to put the big sombrero on her and sing the birthday song to her. She also loves the fried ice cream they serve and was in heaven when they brought her out her own as a birthday treat.

After dinner we went to Grandma Pam's house to let her open the rest of her birthday gifts. She got a new Nintendo DS from Granny and a new bike from us. She also got a few new DS games, the new High School Musical 3 Wii sing it game, and a High School Musical Troy doll, which she has wanted forever!!

I can't believe that my BABY is 8!! She is getting baptized next month on the 14th. It is hard to believe that she is getting so big. We love her so much!!

Christmas 2008

I figured it is about time that I got around to posting about our Christmas. We had a wonderful christmas this year. On the night before Christmas Eve we had a party at Rex's parents house with all of his family. The kids love this party because they have so many cousins to play with on Rex's side of the family. I however didn't get any pictures of them because I forgot my camera, imagine that!

On Christmas Eve we went to my Mom's house and had a delicious dinner. We have the PJ tradition, so the kids each got to open that present. They also got to open the present from my Grandpa, so then the started asking to open just one more. I was strong and didn't give in. If I would let them they would open all of their presents on Christmas Eve. I am sure that most kids would though.

Our kids actually slept until about 7:00am on Christmas morning. Which, if you know my kids is pretty good for them. I love Christmas morning, I love to see the kids faces when they see the pile of presents that Santa brought. I also love watching them open presents and how excited they get when it is something that they have really been wanting. We had such a fun time opening presents this year.

After we got done with presents and breakfast we let the kids play with their new stuff for a little bit. Then we went to my parents house for Christmas dinner and to open the gifts that they got for us. Janeal, Tyson, and Carter were here for Christmas, it was fun to have them here to spend Christmas Eve and Day with them.

I love Christmas and the spirit of kindness it brings out in people. I am so grateful for the Savior and that we have this special time each year to reflect on his birth. I feel so blessed right now that Rex still has a job and that we are able to provide for our family. I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas.
