Gingerbread house and other ramblings

This last week was crazy! The week didn't start off very well, but Rex and I were able to go to my company party in West Yellowstone for the weekend. It was so nice to get away and relax. My sister-in-law Kari kept our girls for us for the weekend. THANKS! We owe you! The girls had a great time playing with their cousins and Rex and I were able to get some much need relaxation after our not so great of a week! After we got home, on Sunday afternoon, we went to my Mom's house to make a gingerbread house and a gingerbread tree.

The girls had so much fun! My Mom helped the girls make theirs look just like the one on the box (thats what they wanted theirs to look like).

They were so excited to show everyone their finished product. I think it looks great!

I love those gingerbread kits! They come with everything you need to make the cute little gingerbread house.

We put up our tree the day after Thanksgiving but I wasn't able to get any pictures because my camera batteries died. :( The girls had so much fun decorating their tree. (We do two trees, one for the kids to decorate, and one for mom to decorate). They were so excited to put all of the Christmas decorations up. I love to watch them as we are putting stuff out. It is so cute how much they love decorating for the holidays. We are working on our plans for neighbor gifts now. Does anyone have a really fun and easy idea? I have a couple of ideas but I am not in love with any of them. If anyone has any great ideas I would love to hear them. I hope that you all are having a wonderful holiday season! Merry Christmas!!

Thanksgiving!!

I just love Thanksgiving so much!! I love going to my parents or grandparents house and spending the day with my family. I am so blessed and I have so much to be thankful for. I have two beautiful daughters and I have a wonderful husband loves me and my kids more than anything. I have a beautiful home and I always have food to eat. I am so blessed to have the Gospel in my life and to have the blessing of an eternal family. I received this poem and it got me thinking that I need to work more on be grateful for what I have, rather than complaining about what I don't.

I am thankful....
For the taxes that I pay, because it means that I am employed.

For the mess to clean after a party, because it means
that I have been surrounded by friends.

For the clothes that fit a little too snug, because it
means I have enough to eat.

For my shadow that watches me work, because
it means I am out in the sunshine.

For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning,
and gutters that need fixing, because it means I have a home.

For all the complaining I hear about the government,
because it means that we have freedom of speech.

For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot,
because it means I am capable of walking and that I have
been blessed with transportation.

I hope that you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Halloween 2008

I know that I am a little behind. I just don't ever remember to get the camera out of the car before Rex heads to work, and then by the time he gets home I am trying to make dinner and get other things done. So here is our Halloween. {Better late than never, Right?}
We had such a great Halloween this year. I loved that it fell on a Friday and we didn't have to rush around so we could get the kids home and in bed early for school the next day. It was also super nice this year because the kids were out of school so when we carved our pumpkins the night before we didn't have to rush to get them done because they had to be in bed for school the next morning. We had a great time carving our pumpkins. The weather was so nice that we were able to set up some tables in our garage and carve them out there. I love not having to clean up the huge mess in the house! We waited until the night before Halloween to carve our pumpkins because Rex had been out of town until then. We all love carving pumpkins and try to do super neat ones.

This year Tabrie did a witch, Briley a pumpkin with BOO, Rex the flaming skull, and I did Frankenstein. It was so fun to watch the girls try and do everything by themselves. They both did a pretty good job of cleaning out their pumpkins, but they both needed help cutting out their design.
I worked on mine while Rex helped the girls with theirs. We have a tradition of lighting them the night we carve them. The girls were so excited about how theirs turned out.
On Halloween Rex was able to go with the girls to school and watch their Halloween parade. They were so excited to have their Dad at school with them. I wasn't able to go because I had to work. The girls both said they had lots of fun at their class Halloween parties, I had volunteered to go help but I never got called to come so I had to miss out. After school was out we went home and relaxed for awhile and then we got the girls all dressed up and took them over to my Granny's house. Then we went to my Mom's house. We took the girls up my Mom's street. The weather was so warm we didn't have to wear coats it was so nice! After treat-or-treating in my Mom's neighborhood we headed home. I stayed home with Briley {her legs were so tired of walking} and handed out candy. It was so fun to see all of the little kids from the neighborhood all dressed up. It was a great Halloween, I am already planning what they should be next year. Oh! I wanted to thank my Mom for making the girls their princess costumes, she has made them costumes for the past couple of years and they love them. THANKS, again Mom!

A Very Long 10 Days

Rex has been in Mexico since Sunday October 19th. I have been playing single mother ever since and as many of you know I am TERRIFIED to sleep home alone when he is gone!! I know, I know, I am 27 years old I shouldn't be scared but I am. The first 5 nights Rex was gone, Tyson (Janeal's husband) was out of town too. I packed up the girls and myself and spent the nights with Janeal. We had a lot of fun, we rented chick flicks about every night and stayed up and watched them after we got the kids in bed. It was so nice to be able to spend the time with her before she moved away. :( The next five nights I had just planned to go to my Mom's house and spend the time there but she wouldn't let Fred come to her house and stay over, so I decided to try staying at home alone. I had so many nice friends call and offer to sleep with their phones so I could call them anytime. Thanks, so much to all of you who helped me conquer my fear. I DID IT!! I slept home alone for 5 nights and I made it without freaking myself out too badly!! I know it doesn't seem like a big accomplishment to most, but it was a huge accomplishment for me!! Thanks to everyone who gave me the moral support I needed. Rex will be home tonight and I am SOOOOOOO excited to see him. We have never been apart this long since we have been married and I miss him so much!

Pumpkin Patch

We have a yearly fall tradition of going to the pumpkin patch. The girls absolutely love going. They ask every year about this time if and when we are going to go.

This year was no different, they started asking as soon as they saw pumpkins in the store. The pumpkin patch really isn't a cheap place to get pumpkins but, we like to go and find the biggest ones that we can. Rex and the kids love carving pumpkins and Rex really gets into it every year. The girls jumped out of the car as soon as we got there and started looking for the biggest pumpkin they could find.
It didn't take them long to find theirs and then they were off to play on the straw bales.

When we went to pay for the pumpkins the girl told us that if we wanted to we could go over to the potato field and pick up the potatoes that the combine didn't get, Tabrie and Briley really wanted to so we went over and we picked some potatoes. Pretty sad that we live in Idaho and this it the first time that I have ever picked a potato right out of the field. We had such a good time at the pumpkin patch, I am already looking forward to next year!

Bad Luck!

Yesterday while I was at work I had some really bad luck. I was sitting up in my office when a guy that I work with paged up to me. He said "Nichelle come down stairs." I said "ok I be down in a minute." He said "You may want to come now." So then I knew that there was something wrong. I hurried downstairs to find out that a rock from someones car or truck had flown into my back window and it was shattered. I am lucky because I had my back window tinted so all of the glass was held in by the tint. I was able to still drive my car. I can't believe my luck, this is the 3rd time that this has happened to me since I have been driving. I don't know anyone else that has had this happen to them, me I have had it 3 time. Wow!! I am getting it replaced today, but it stinks because I have to pay my glass deductible.

{I don't know if you can tell anything from this picture}

Rex has been on his big week long hunting trip and I hadn't heard from him until last night. I was so excited to talk to him, then he broke the news to me that he was going to be staying an extra day because they hadn't seen many animals and they wanted to go out one more night. I was so bummed! I hate hunting and I don't even eat the meat so I don't care if he gets anything. I just wanted him to come home. I know that it is good for him to go and have some male bonding time with his Dad and brothers but I don't like it when he is gone!

Introducing "Mr. Fred"

We have a new pet at our house. His name is Fred {he came with the name, I don't love it but, he knows it well and so we decided not to change it} and he is a 3 year old, 2 1/2 pound Yorkie. He is so darn cute. My kids have been wanting a dog forever and I only wanted to get a Yorkie, because they don't shed and they are good with kids.

I had been looking in the newspaper and Thrifty Nickel for one but they are really expensive dogs and I couldn't find one for under $800.00. I didn't want one that badly and Rex didn't want me to get one at all for that price. I was looking through the Thrifty Nickel last Thursday and I found an for ad MALE AKC Yorkie, 3 years old, proven stud, 2 1/2 pounds, $400. I thought that it was worth a call. When I called the number I got the voice mail of one of Rex's friends wife. I was super excited because she had told me once about her little Yorkies. She had told that they were such good dogs, but they were gone too much and she felt badly because the dogs were kenneled all day long. I called Rex right away and told him to call his friend and tell him that we wanted the male dog they had in the Thrifty Nickel. Rex called me back and said that they were going out of town for the weekend so I had to wait clear until Sunday night to get him. It was a long weekend because I was excited about getting him and so were the girls.

He has been such a good dog so far. We haven't had any accidents in the house and he is so good with the kids. My girls LOVE him they never leave him alone, he probably wishes that they would sometimes. I am happy that we found him, it has been so nice to not have to potty train a puppy {The real reason I decided that I had to have him is because he was already potty trained} and to be able to trust him not to get rough with the kids. We are happy to have him around!

Back to School

I know I have said this a million times but I can't believe that summer break is over and the kids have gone back to school already! Thursday was Briley's 5th birthday and her very first day of all day kindergarten. I was so scared for her, but when I dropped her off she was so excited to be there. I kept saying "Mommy is going to leave now". She just said "Ok Mommy". I think deep down inside I wanted her to act at least a little sad that I was leaving but she wasn't sad at all. In fact when I went back to the school to have lunch with her she wasn't all that excited to see me. She sighed and said "No, Mom why are you here?" Talk about heartbreaking, here I am thinking that she is going to be so happy to see me and I have embarrassed her by coming. She did however let me sit and have lunch with her.

She loves her teacher and loves school so far. She says that her favorite part is recess but I know that she like class too because she is always telling us what they learned. I just can't believe that I have both of my kids in school full time. I can not believe that they grow up so fast.

(I know that this isn't a great picture, the sun was in their eyes)
Tabrie is in 2nd grade now! I can't believe that either. I remember just like yesterday dropping her off for her first day of pre-school and now she is a big second grader. She was so excited to go back to school. She loves that she can socialize all day with her friends. She was pretty lucky this year, she got quite a few friends in her class and a really great teacher. I am getting used to dropping her off at school but it was still hard, I am really going to miss spending time with my kids during the day. I know that they are glad to be back in school (at least for a few more days).

Briley Turns 5!

Yesterday was a big day at our house. My baby girl turned 5!! I can hardly believe that she is 5 already. I can't believe how fast time goes by, it just seems like yesterday that she was born and now she is so big!

I think that she had a pretty good Birthday. She woke up in the morning to a room full of balloons! (Thanks for the great idea Am & Ed) After school she got a new Barbie bike which she had been wanting for some time now. She was so excited to try it out, but the wind was blowing so hard that when she tried to ride it she kept getting blown over so unfortunately she didn't get to ride it a very much yesterday.

We had a small birthday party for her at my Mom's house in the evening. We had pizza and my Mom made her this really cute crown cake.
After dinner she got to open the rest of her presents. She got a lot of really cute stuff, but much to my dismay she got this GIANT Dora from my grandma (I guess that makes it her great grandma). As you can see she is almost as tall a Briley and she is very heavy, I don't know where we are going to store that massive thing. She was very excited about it so I guess I should just be happy for her.

The Girls New Favorite

My girls have a new found love. Rex bought an old 1981 Jeep about a year and a half ago. He as been working on fixing it up ever since. He has this picture of what he wants it to look like when he is done, but it an expensive little project. He buys parts for it here and there, last year he got it Line-X yellow (which made it look 100% better than the camo that he bought it with). He just got seat belts put in so now he can take the girls for rides. I can't believe how much they love riding in it. They ask every night if he will take them for a Jeep ride. I think it must be the fact that it doesn't have a top and they think that is the coolest thing ever. I never thought I would say this but it is pretty fun to ride in but it doesn't have doors on and I am scared that I will fall out. My girls have a new favorite thing, and their Daddy thinks it is pretty cool that they love his Jeep, because he loves it too.
We are getting all ready for the school year to start. I can't believe that school starts this week. I also can't believe that both of my kids are going to be in school this year 5 days a week. I am kind of sad, I will be at work the whole time they are at school but it is just so weird. This has been such a quick summer. We did get to go to Park City last weekend and do some school shopping. We found some great stuff and had a great time with our kids.
We have really been enjoying the Olympics this year. It has been fun to watch, I can't believe how talented all of the athletes are. They totally amazes me. I hope that everyone has a great last week of summer

Our Weekend!

This last weekend my Mom had asked Rex to do her tile backsplash because she just got granite in her kitchen. We loaded up the tile saw and the tools and went to my Mom's house Saturday morning. My Dad had to work half of the day but when he got home he helped Rex cut tiles and spread the mud. It really looks good, but I would have never guessed that it would take all day.

While we were at my parents house all day and the girls were getting a little bored. They decied that they wanted to play playdough. With the kitchen being torn apart my Mom suggested that they go play it outside. Tabrie made this really cute person out of playdough, she was so proud of it she had everyone come out and look at it. I told her that I wanted to take a picture of it and put it on the blog. I don't know if you can tell from the picture but she did a pretty good job.

Briley didn't want Tabrie to be the only one who made the blog so I told her I would take a picture of her playing with her playdough and post it too.

I love how kids have such good imaginations. They are so fun to watch. My girls can entertain themselves for hours. It is nice for me because when they play together I can get so much done. They do fight occasionally but for the most part they a great, I am so glad that they get along so well and love to play with each other. They really are great kids, and I am so blessed to be their Mom.

What We've Been Up To....

It has been a while, I know. We have been doing some really fun things this summer but for some reason I just can't seem to remember my camera. Every time I get to where we are going I remember that I FORGOT my camera.

A week or so ago we went with my family bowling for FHE. The girls had so much fun bowling. They just loved being able to throw the ball down the lane by themselves. Rex would try to help Briley and she would tell him that she could do it herself. She had a hard time throwing it hard enough to get all the way down the lane.

Tabrie did very well all by herself, and for only bowling a couple of times in her life she didn't score too bad. I of course forgot my camera but Janeal was there so she did take a couple of pictures of my kids for me. Thanks Sis!

Last Thursday we went to the spray park with some friends. We went pretty early so it was kind of cold. Tabrie had lots of fun and the cold didn't seem to bother her much. Briley only got in for a few minutes and said she was too cold so she went to the car and got dressed. We had to get back so that we could go to Rex's company picnic. The girls had lots of fun there too. They gave all of the kids squirt guns and they had 4 big jump houses for the kids to play on. I wish I had pictures to share but again I forgot my camera.

Just yesterday we went the Chuckars game with my family. My girls really seemed to like it. I thought that they would be bored to death at a baseball game. Briley can entertain herself anywhere so she just sat there and talked to herself and played by herself. Tabrie loved watching the game and was pretty into it. She kept asking questions and was bummed when we left a little before the game was over.

We have been having a great summer! I can't believe that school will be starting in a little less than a month! Where does all the time go? I have already gotten all of the girls school supplies and I've started thinking I need to get them school clothes. I think that I am just in denial that school is going to be starting again. I hope you all are having great summer!!

4th of July

We had such a great 4th of July. We started off the day by going to the parade, my Dad is so nice he goes really early every year and sets up our chairs for us. The kids loved the parade, we asked them what their favorite part of the parade was and they said the cheerleaders.
After the parade we went and staked out a spot down by the river for the fireworks. We forgot the stuff and we didn't want to drive all the way home so we just stopped at Home Depot and bought some stakes and rope. After that we went up to my sister Janeal's house for a BBQ. We ate lots of yummy food and then the kids played on the slip n' slide. My girls loved it! Briley got cold and wanted to get dress after a while but, Tabrie would have played on it for hours. They had so much fun.

After the BBQ we went home and rested for a while, then it was off to the fireworks.
We picked up a pizza on our way to the river and ate it while we were waiting for the fireworks to start. Ed, Am, and their boys met us down there. The kids had a great time playing while we waited for the fireworks to start. When the fireworks finally started the kids laid down on a blanket and started watching the fireworks and all of them fell asleep. We had to wake the poor kids up to walk to the car. I felt bad. They fell right back to sleep on the drive home though. We waited in traffic for over an hour to get home. It was worth it to me the fireworks were so spectacular. I don't mind the crowds or the traffic, but Rex on the other hand gets rather annoyed.
I love the 4th of July, it is one of my favorite holiday's. I am so grateful to live in this free country. I am so thankful for the men and women who have sacrificed so that we can be free.

Summer Time Update

It seems like I have been such a slacker on posting lately. For some reason I have been kind of busy lately. I have been working a lot and on my days off I try to take my kids out to do something fun. We have had a couple of picnic with friends, gone to the free movies, and gone for bike rides. Briley learned about a month ago to ride her bike without training wheels. She was very quick to pick up on it and now she is wild and crazy out there on two wheels!
We have worked on our yards lots and made a lot of progress. We have finally planted our grass. YEAH! We have finished our swing set area which we filled with rubber mulch, it was kind of expensive but it is so nice.
Our flower bed is full of weeds and so I spent the whole day on Saturday weeding, I got a nice sun burn on my legs and I couldn't walk normal. It hurt pretty bad so, I guess I learned my lesson about sunscreen. We are so excited about this weekend we all love the 4th of July, the girls love the fireworks and the parade. Rex's cousin always has a huge BBQ and fireworks show the weekend after the 4th and that is always tons of fun. My girls really look forward to that too. There is always a slipin' slide, lots of kids, and the fireworks are awesome . It is so nice to finally have summer here. I just love summer! I hope you all have a great hoilday weekend!

Our Trip to Lagoon

We went to Lagoon a couple of weekends ago and I am just now getting around to blogging about it. My girls were so excited to go. We load up in the car at eight o'clock in the morning and set off for Utah. We got there right when the park opened. It was so cute the girls kept saying to each other "look at that ride it looks so fun." Briley was shrieking in the back of the car the whole time we were waiting in line to park, she was so excited. Once we got in we figured out that Tabrie was tall enough to go on every ride. Briley on the other had was not so lucky, she was about 4" too short for any of the big rides. Both of the girls were little dare devils, they really wanted to get on all of the wild and crazy rides (but Briley couldn't really ride any of them so we didn't let Tabrie go on them either).

We had lots and lots of fun. My girls have been asking ever since we left, "when do we get to go back to Lagoon?" It is an annual party at my work so I was able to tell them that we would be able to go back next year. I had so much fun spending time with my family. It was so fun to see the smile on my girls faces and watch them having so much fun. I am so blessed to have such great kids and a great husband that I just love spending time with.

Tags

I was tagged by Brenda but, I am not too sure about this one! I don't know if I want everyone to know all of this weird stuff about me! Here it goes.

6 unspectacular quirks about me:

One:
I don't really like to have large groups of people come over to my house. I know it is weird but for some strange reason I don't like to entertain people. I love to get together with friends and family but I just don't like it to be at my house. (I know it is rude to not take your turn so I really need to get over it.)

Two: I always talk to myself. I have full on conversations with myself and lots of times I even answer my own questions. I got it from my mom, when I was little I remember she used to open the mail and she would say "what is this ?" then in the next breath she would answer herself. I hope that this doesn't make me crazy!!

Three: I am terrified to sleep at home alone! I am 26 years old and when my husband goes out of town 99% of the time I pack us up (the girls and I) and we go and sleep over and my mom's house. I wish that I wasn't scared but if I stay home I don't sleep at all. I was hoping that I would out grow this but I haven't yet.

Four: I can't make a decision without consulting someone. It drives Rex crazy, I always say I like something but I won't buy it until I call Janeal have her come and look at it. Rex says "you don't have to ask your sisters opinion on everything." I just don't trust my own judgement and I think that she has good taste.

Five: I can't stand it when my house gets messy. I freak out! If my house isn't clean I am not a very nice person. I have had so many people tell me that there are more important things in life then a clean house, and I agree but it isn't in my personality to let my house go. I need to spend more time with my kids but I can't relax until my house is clean.

Six: I don't have a creative bone in my body! I don't know how I got this way because my Mom and sister both enjoy doing crafts and scrap booking. I do not at all. If I make something I always think it looks ugly and I won't display it anyways. I have no desire to do anything that involves crafts or scrap booking. I also don't know how to decorate, so all of the walls in my house are bare. I would love to pay someone to come in and decorate my house for me, but I am too cheap for that.

Wow, I am glad that is over. Now that you all know so many of my bad qualities. I now tag Holly, Stacey, Alison, and Amberlee. Enjoy doing this one ladies! :)

{Mommy Tag}
1. What time do my kids wake up? Most days they are up by 7:30

12. What are the 5 things that make me smile while being a mom? The hugs and kisses, when they smile, when I check on my kids and they are asleep, to see them playing with each other, and the way the call each other by their nicknames (I think it is so cute!)
13. Where do you want to take your kids someday? To Florida
14. When was the last time Rex and I went out - without kids? I honestly can't remember, probably on Rex's birthday.

18. Advice for new moms? Write down the firsts. (First words, when they started to crawl, and walk ect...) I didn't and I can't remember when they did things for sure. I have an idea but I don't know exactly, I really wish I would have written it down.
19. What's a scary or heartbreaking moment you've had? Tabrie refused to eat as a baby, I kept telling the doctor that there was something wrong with her and he wouldn't believe me. We finally got him to believe us and we had some tests done and we did find out what was wrong with her but it was very scary.
20. When was the last time your kids said I love you? When I tucked them in tonight.

I tag Janeal, Brenda, and Alison.

Tabrie's Piano Recital

Tabrie had a piano recital Saturday morning at 10:30. We had to go clean the church before the recital so, I was a little nervous because she didn't get to practice before we went. I didn't have anything to worry about. She did awesome, she didn't make even one mistake. I think I was more nervous than she was, didn't even seem nervous at all. She got up announced her name and the song she was playing then she sat down and played it perfectly. This only her second recital but her first one she did a duet with her teacher. She has only been taking piano since September, but she sure has picked up on it quickly. She practices most days without complaining and she can figure out most of her songs by herself and she is really doing good with her sight reading. We are very proud of her, she is doing so great!

Sunday Drive

We wanted to go on a Sunday drive so we decided to go Wolverine Canyon. We loaded up in the car and drove up there for a couple of hours. I had not ever been up there and either had the girls so we were excited to see what we were missing. As we drove into the canyon the girls noticed a little waterfall and they were so excited to see more. We didn't see anymore waterfalls but it is a beautiful area and it was only about 30 minutes from our house. We got out of the car and Rex told the girls that he would take them for a hike up this little hill. I guess we haven't ever taken our girls hiking before because just going up that little hill was so great for them. They had so much fun on that little hike they just kept talking about it the whole way home. They asked us to take them camping, hiking, and fishing next weekend. I am not sure that we will be able to go next weekend but we are planning on taking them very soon. We don't have a Trailer anymore so we don't do much camping, I hate to tent it. I think that I could handle going up there for a night and I know that my girls would love it. We just need to get a few more things done in the yard and then we can take them camping. :)

Were Making Progress!

I am so excited that we are finally making some progress on our yard. This last weekend we sprayed all of our weeds with round-up (I really hope that they die) we have so many that it pretty much took us all day. We have very little cooperation from the sprayers. They kept getting clogged and not spraying and we kept having to stop to go clean them out. It was a long a day to say the least! We finally got our plants that we bought weeks ago planted in our flower beds, my parents came over and help us with that part. Thanks, Mom and Dad we really appreciate the help! I just hope I remember to keep them watered so that they don't die before we get the sprinkler system up and running. On Tuesday we rented a pipe puller and we pulled the pipe for our sprinkler system. I am so excited that we actually might have some grass before the end of the summer. (I am sure our neighbors are excited too!) Rex said that he hopes to have the sprinkler system done by the end of Memorial Day but, the weather isn't supposed to be very good so I guess we'll have to see if he can get it done!

Pictures

Last Thursday I took the girls to have their picture taken by Chantri. She did such a good job with the kids. She was so patient and cute with them. She posted a few of their pictures on her blog. You can click here to go to her blog. I am so excited to get to see the rest of the pictures. She got some really cute ones of the girls and she was so inexpensive and very easy to work with. I love the ones that she posted, I just can't wait to see the rest of them! We did a Simply Unique session. She has a different one every month they are very fun and inexpensive so be sure to check out her website for more information. :)

Our Weekend

We had beautiful weather on Saturday and we didn't even get a single thing done in our yard. :( We decided last week sometime that we need to get a new truck ours is really old (1979 to be exact) and just not economical, plus it is only a single cab and we have 4 people in our family. Rex had decide that we need to get one of 3 kinds of trucks so we set out early Saturday morning to test drive. It took us all day but we did finally get a new truck. Wow, was it a long day! I am so thankful for my girls. They had to tag along with us to all of the different car dealerships and they were so good. I am so blessed to have such good kids. I couldn't ask for better children, they are such a blessing to me. I had a wonderful Mothers Day, the girls were so excited Sunday morning to give me the gifts that they had made at school. Those are the best gifts, the ones that come from the heart. I loved what they made. Tabrie had planted some marigolds in a cup and made a sweet little card. Briley made this cute little thing that said "I love you this much" it was a heart with yarn and little cut outs of her hands you pull the hands to opposite sides so it looks like arms stretched out. I am so grateful to be a Mom and the blessing it is in my life. I couldn't have asked for anything more in life. My family is such a wonderful blessing to me. I have a wonderful husband who is so sweet to me and two beautiful girls. I think I am the luckiest girl alive. :)

Sorry for the lack of posts

I am sorry that I have been such a slacker. I don't really know why but it seems I have been kind of busy lately and just haven't been blogging much. We are trying to take advantage of the nice weather and get things done in our yard. The weekend before last we went and bought a whole bunch of shrubs and bushes for our yard. Then this last weekend Rex did some more work on the patio and we got curbing. The girls and I had a little service project that we did Saturday morning for the Modern Woodmen Youth Service Club that I am the leader of. We had about 10 kids and 7 adults come and help us plant flowers at Life Care Center. It was a fun little project. We went to Pizza Hut afterwards, then Tabrie got to go to a birthday party at Bear Buddies, that is a cute little store. Afterwards we headed to Twin Falls for a meeting I needed to go to for the Youth Service Club. We stayed over night in Twin (the kids love staying in hotels). We spent Sunday morning looking at the sights in Twin (watching people base jump and going to Shoshone Falls) then we headed home. We had a good weekend! I just love spending time with my little family. It was so fun to be with just them all weekend. Sorry, it has been so long since my last post I am going to try to get back into the swing of things.

Sickness :(

On Saturday we went out and enjoyed the nice weather. Rex went dirt biking and then he came home and worked on our patio. We are doing pavers which I never thought would be as much work as they turned out to be. We went to bed Saturday night then in the middle of the night Rex started feeling sick. I got up and took the girls to church Sunday morning. When we came home and Rex was still not feeling well at all. (He couldn't even get out of bed and had a way high fever.) He was still super sick all day Monday so on Tuesday morning I called and made him a doctors appointment. He went to the doctor and found out he had INFLUENZA. :( He still isn't feeling all that great. Poor guy! He said that the medicine has help quite a bit, but he still isn't feeling 100%.
I was supposed to be going with a bunch of my friends to Salt Lake for a girls weekend, but I decided I probably not go and risk getting everyone there sick. The doctor told us influenza is highly contagious and you are a contagious 48 hours before you ever feel sick. BUMMER! So, instead I get to stay home and take care of a sick little girl. Poor little Briley woke up this morning with a fever so we called the doctor and got a prescription for all of us for Tamiful. I am just hoping that Tabrie and I can stay healthy and not get it! I have decided that should own stock in Lysol! I hope you all have a great weekend!

FUN!!!!

This last weekend was so nice, we spent the entire weekend outside. We got the girls a swing set for Easter and we spent the majority of the day Saturday putting it up. The girls were so excited to be able play on it. Of course the weather here is so crazy, when we woke up Monday it was super windy and the weather just got worse from there. It ended up snowing on Tuesday night and was pretty cold and windy yesterday so, needless to say they haven't been able to play on it much. It was pretty nice out today so I let them go out and play. They had so much fun! They have really missed having a yard. They are so excited that we have somewhere for them to play this summer. We are hoping that the weather will get nice sometime so that we can get our sprinklers in and get some grass planted. We have someone coming to do some curbing this next week so, we are crossing our fingers that it will be nice enough to get that done. I just wish that we didn't have to worry about snow showers in April!!!!

Please Spread the Word

My sister and her husband are hoping to adopt another child. We know that the chance of them getting a baby increases if we get the word out. She made up this cute pass along card. If you know of anyone who may be considering placing their baby for adoption please pass along their information. You can visit their blog and click on their adoption profile for more information. They are a wonderful family and any baby would be blessed to be a part of their family. Thank you so much for your help.

Fun Idea

I was on a blog and I saw this idea and thought it was so fun I just had to share. The idea was for a Family Fun Day, which she got from the Family Fun magazine. What you do is let each person in your family pick an activity to do that day and you go and do all of the activities that each person picked. I think that this is such a fun idea. I know my girls would love this (I'm not sure I would love what they picked) they love to spend time playing together as a family. On this day you are supposed to forget about work or other things that need to be done, because this is just supposed to be a day of fun. I think that we are going to try this very soon, it sounds so great. I love to spend time with my family and this is a great way to make sure that everyone enjoys the day. Thanks so much for the fun idea Jessica!

The Best Daddy

Today was pretty nice (for how our spring has been) so as soon as Rex got home the girls met him at the door and asked if they could ride their dirt bike. Rex was so excited to let them ride. We put all of their new gear on them and they were ready to ride. Rex had to run beside Briley the entire time she was riding in case she lost control or couldn't stop. He was tired before she was of course.

He then had to take the training wheels off for Tabrie to ride. He got out the little 4-wheeler so he and Briley could ride beside Tabrie. They had so much fun. The girls came in a were so excited about getting to ride. Tabrie said "we have the best Daddy". I was just thinking that thought as she said it, he is the best Daddy, he does so much for us and never complains.

I love that Rex is always wanting to play with our kids even though I am sure he is tired when he comes from work. (he as to be to work pretty early) He spent the entire last weekend building a bed for Briley's preschool teacher, as payment for school, he never complained or even said anything about having to do it. He is such a great Dad and we all love him very much. (I am sure that we all feel that we have the best husbands and daddy's though) :)
